"We have big buckets in our showers that catch the cold water as it warms up and we carry those out and pour them on trees or bushes or whatever," said Katie Downs, who lives with her husband and 8-year-old daughter near the edge of town.

Region 9 Appoints New Executive Director
The Region 9 Education Service Center Board of Directors have selected Wes Pierce to serve as the new Executive Director beginning October 15, 2014. Having been employed at Region 9 ESC since 2005, Pierce is previously serving in various capacities, including Education Specialist, Director of Student Support Services, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Deputy Executive Director.

Fat McBride: The Legacy Will Live On
"He was always very friendly, caring, loving, big heart, and I'm finding more and more of that out now," said Kelly Henry, Marvin "Fat" McBride's daughter. Fat McBride passed away in a car accident on Friday, October 10 at the age of 85. Fat was known throughout the city for his many restaurant establishments.

Olney is Looking At Options To Solve Water Supply Issue
Olney is being forced to use Lake Kickapoo as their only water source because Lake Cooper is too low. Danny Parker, the city administrator, said the lake is only at nine-percent capacity.

Abbott was paralyzed and has been confined to a wheelchair since a tree fell on him while he was jogging.

Missing Wichita Falls Fugitive Arrested
In May 2014, Elizabeth Duerson was reported missing following her conviction and sentencing for Intoxication Manslaughter. On October 13, 2014, Duerson was located and arrested in Williston, North Dakota, after she was the subject of a suspicious person call.

Wichita Falls Police Department is currently investigating a missing person, 18-year-old Rachel Elizabeth Bayliff. Bayliff is 5'4" and weighs approximately 100 pounds with red hair and hazel eyes.
