Cyclists in the 500-mile Ride Texas Wish For Our Heroes event comes through Beeville on Nov. 10. The event will start in Wichita Falls on Nov. 5, and riders will complete 100 miles per day, concluding in Corpus Christi on Veterans Day. Money raised from the ride will benefit Wish For Our Heroes and Trinity Oaks Nonprofit Organization.

The City of Wichita Falls does not set an official day or time for children to trick-or-treat, however, it is recommended, as has been the practice for many years in the City, for those who are planning to go door-to-door to receive Halloween treats and those who will be home to distribute the treats, that they do so on the evening of Halloween, October 31st. The Wichita Falls Police Department suggests a time of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for trick-or treating.

The call came around 9:30 a.m. after crews that were drilling holes for street signs in the 600 block of Brook Street accidentally drilled into a eight inch major gas line. The Wichita Falls Police Department and the Wichita Falls Fire Department immediately blocked off traffic within a four block radius due to the wind blowing the gas into the intersection.

A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the thefts of batteries from tornado sirens that occurred earlier this month. On October 13th, the box at McKinney and Rowland was broken into and both batteries were stolen.
