The Wichita Falls Police Department are on the lookout for a suspect who's accused of breaking into the 9th Street laundromat on November 6th around 1:15 a.m. An employee found that a back door had been broken into, and that the ATM had been tampered with. A laptop and MP3 player were found to be missing, and there was damage to the alarm system.

Six-Day "Ride Texas" Comes to and End in Corpus Christi
More than 20 warriors on wheels made their way to Corpus Christi Tuesday after riding for almost a week in the six-day long "Ride Texas" event. The combination of combat veterans and their supporters left Wichita Falls six days ago and rode through several towns and cities on their way to the Coastal Bend, including Fort Worth, Waco, Austin and San Antonio.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest
On Tuesday, November 11th, Wichita Falls police officers conducted a traffic stop on a blue Dodge Pickup in the 2300 block of Speedway. During a search of the vehicle, officers located 7.8 grams of methamphetamine, 3 Xanax pills and 1 Soma pill in 33-year-old Christina Lazo's possession.

Fire Hydrant Causes Road Closures
Water is shut off in the area around McNiel and Call Field Road due to a crash in Wichita Falls early Friday morning. Emergency personnel were called to the 4300 block of McNiel Road where a vehicle struck a fire hydrant and was laying on its side.

Greg Abbott, the top law enforcement officer in Texas, celebrated his birth in Wichita Falls, Texas 57 years ago Thursday, Nov. 13. Actually, his wife Cecilia and he each celebrated both their birthdays as they share the same day, although she is two years younger than the governor-elect of Texas. The Abbotts have a lot of reasons to celebrate including the fact he will be the first native of Wichita Falls, Texas ever elected to the highest office in the state.

The Wichita Falls Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 2400 block of Sheppard Access Road around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. The suspect, described as a black male, took off in a black Ford truck being driven by an unknown person.

Serial rapist sentenced to life in prison
Prosecutors are crediting four sexual assault victims for having the courage to testify and help send a serial rapist to prison for life. Nolan Dewayne Thompkins was convicted on three counts of sexual assault Thursday, and sentenced to life in prison Friday.

Woman Rushed to Hospital After Being Hit by Car
One woman was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car in Wichita Falls Friday evening. Police say a person was driving on Holliday around 7:00 p.m. in the area near McGregor and 22nd St. A woman was walking along the street and the driver didn't see her and struck her with the vehicle.
