Lawsuit claims sexual abuse in Fort Worth Catholic Diocese
A man is seeking over $1 million in damages in a lawsuit against the Fort Worth Roman Catholic Diocese, alleging he was sexually assaulted by a priest in the 1990s. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the man, who now lives near Spokane, Washington, said priest John Sutton was his seventh-grade history teacher at Notre Dame Middle-High School in Wichita Falls.

According to ESPN , Josh Peloquin of Rider High in Wichita Falls, Texas, cracked this 35-yard full volley into the top shelf in the dying seconds to win the game. It's technically a buzzer-beater, because high school games don't have any stoppage time, and while the referee's keep time on the pitch, the running game clock is the end-all-be-all.

Accident on Kemp Blocks Traffic
Wichita Falls Police said the driver of a Jeep escaped serious injury despite the vehicle rolling on its side during a mid-afternoon accident on Kemp Street. The crash caught the eye of other drivers at the nearby busy intersection of Kemp and Call Field at around 1:15 p.m. Police say the jeep was behind a Hummer, and that both vehicles were heading in the southbound lanes.

Alcoa breaks ground on innovative water treatment system at Texas facility
Alcoa Power and Propulsion, a unit of lightweight, high-performance metals leader Alcoa, began construction on an innovative water treatment system at its jet engine parts facility in Wichita Falls, Texas. A first-of-its-kind in the state, the environmentally sustainable system will reduce water use by 68 percent annually at the plant, which is located in the drought-stricken region of North Central Texas.

Wichita County Sheriff's Office honors deputy who saved woman's life
The Wichita County Sheriff's Office honored Deputy Ralph Burdick recently for saving the life of a woman who attempted to jump off an overpass in Wichita Falls, Texas, according to Channel 3 and Channel 6 News reports. Burdick was presented the Life Saving Award for saving a woman before she could jump off the Lloyd Ruby Overpass.
