Friends and Family of those involved in a tragic accident early Friday morning gathered at the site of the accident for a vigil. Just after 1:00 a.m., emergency crews responded to a call about a car submerged off the access road along Highway 287 in Wichita Falls.

A Wichita Falls man is behind bars for allegedly assaulting a police officer. Police say 18-year-old Demetris Pope struck an officer several times after the officer found him inside a residence during a burglary call.

Early Morning Fire Destroys Home
Two people are injured following a massive structure fire in Wichita Falls Wednesday morning, according to a family member on scene. That family member told Newschannel 6 crews that one person was taken to the hospital for burns, while the other was taken for smoke inhalation.

Woman Enters Plea for Intoxicated Manslaughter, Bail Jumping
A Wichita Falls woman who was originally arrested for driving drunk and crashing a car on Kemp, which resulted in the death of her brother, has been sentenced after striking a plea deal. In January 2010, then 26-year old Duerson was speeding as she was driving on Kemp Boulevard when she crossed the center median and hit two trees and a light pole.
