Down at the Library of Graham Tuesday morning, Brayden Nall, 6, of Graham, was busy trying to complete a successful surgery from a mobile trailer in the library's parking lot. Nall seemed calm, even upbeat and smiling, as his patient's health hung in the balance.

Historical marker honors Wichita Falls hospital's legacy
The Wichita Falls Times Records News reports that on Saturday the official Texas Historical Marker for Wichita General Hospital was unveiled during a dedication ceremony. The marker stands at the corner where the hospital that served the area for more than 90 years once stood.

Man Admits to Shooting at Murder Victim a Month Before His Death
A Wichita Falls man is behind bars after police say he admitted to shooting at Domanic Thrasher a month before he was gunned down and killed. According to the arrest affidavit, on the morning of May 3rd officers were called out to shots fired call at the Plantation Apartments located on Austin Street.

Wichita Falls Smoking Ban Nears One Year Mark
"We had several restaurants who have taken the initiative either when they remodeled or when they sold and had new owners that have gone ahead and gone 100% smoke free," said Lou Kriedler, Director of Health at Wichita Falls - Wichita County Public Health District. "They did have a few that didn't come at first, but they came back because people go to restaurants not to smoke but to enjoy the food," said Kriedler.

Suspect Arrested in Connection to Mail Thefts
Wichita Falls Police have made an arrest in connection to the recent string of mail thefts 32-year-old Amber Nicole Scherff was arrested and charged with Forgery after a bank clerk identified her from a photo line-up as the person cashing altered checks. In February police began receiving reports of residents having their mail stolen.

Weed whackers: Texas DPS scores 400 pounds of pot in 2 stops
The Texas Department of Public Safety's weed stash got a little bigger after a stop Thursday near Wichita Falls netted about 94 pounds. More than 300 pounds of marijuana took up most of the leg room and trunk space in this 2004 Chevrolet Impala.
