The report shows the state's economy gained 276,400 non-agricultural jobs from June 2014 to June 2015, an annual growth rate of 2.4 percent compared to 2.1 percent for the nation. According to the Real Estate Center's latest Monthly Review of the Texas Economy , the non-government sector added 253,900 jobs, an annual growth rate of 2.6 percent compared with 2.4 percent for the nation's private sector.

Judge Barney Fudge sentenced a Wichita Falls man to 40 years in a Texas penitentiary for the murder of David Douglass Mays, according to an article on the front page of the Wichita Falls Times Record News newspaper today, Saturday, July 25. Davontay Tyrone Johnson, 21, pleaded guilty in the 78th District Court before being sentenced yesterday. Johnson, who was reportedly 18 at the time of the slaying of Mays, evidently was not acting alone, according to court records and other documents.

Police say they received a call around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday from a panic alarm at the Sprint 24. The clerk told officers that two men robbed him at gunpoint.
