Yesterday people in Wichita Falls relived the destruction and reconstruction of their city following a deadly F-4 tornado that struck the town 37 years ago on April 10th, 1979 otherwise known as "Terrible Tuesday". On that date Frank Gohlke, a Wichita Falls native, had his camera ready to capture the disaster through photographs.

Texomans Tackle THOR Obstacle Run
"The event itself benefits Leadership Wichita Falls as well as Streams and Valleys here in Wichita Falls," Michael Boyle, Chairman of THOR said. The nearly 5K race began in Lucy Park and took participants along the Wichita River, to the falls and through Camp Fillers before crossing the finish line back at Lucy Park.

A misunderstanding with an area TV station regarding funding for the Humane Society of Young County caused the shelter s plea for donations to backfire. Not only did incoming donations slow down, but some donors requested that the shelter return money they had donated.

WFPD release S.T.E.P. grant numbers
Between January and March, Wichita Falls Police gave out 474 speeding violations, 261 intersection violations, 179 adult seat belt citations, 11 child safety seat violations and 169 other violations while making four arrests.

Two more convicted for involvement north Texas meth ring
On Monday, in U.S. District Court, a federal jury convicted Cleto Tarin, 52, of the Dallas-Fort Worth, and Hector Saldivar, 33, of Wichita Falls. The two were each charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Inside Texoma: Keeping kids mind active
A 55-year-old Texoma woman is now behind bars on drug charges. Just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department stopped a 1996 Buick Regal in the 1200 block of Central Freeway for expired vehicle registration.

4 kids, employee inhaled toxic gas at Iowa Park pool
ABC, 24/7, Telemundo - IOWA PARK, TX Chlorine gas at the Iowa Park Municipal Pool was inhaled by four children and a city employee Monday. Jerry Flemming, Iowa Park's city manager, said a combination of dry chemicals were mixed and water was added before the mixture was added at the pool's edge.

Fire destroys home on Cypress
A two-alarm fire did extensive damage to a home on the 4700 block of Cypress on Tuesday morning. Wichita Falls fire crews were dispatched to the home just before noon.

Two in jail for flea market theft
Two people are behind bars after trying to burglarize the Holliday Road flea market. Wichita Falls police responded to a burglar alarm at the flea market around 10:30 p.m. on Monday night.

Wreck causes delays on Kell
Wichita Falls police say just after 4 p.m. a Buick hit the back end of a pickup truck causing another car, a Mazda, to hit the truck a second time. The accident did force traffic officials to shut down all but one lane of Kell West causing delays in traffic.

Former Manhunt Monday suspect "no billed"
A Wichita Falls man who has been no billed by a Wichita County grand jury on the charge of assault. Desmond Matthews was the subject of a Manhunt Monday back in August of 2015 for an assault incident.

Recent heavy rains unearth dog tags from WWII veteran
David Harmon and his son, Landon, visit with Mary Ann Massey in Wichita Falls, Texas after Harmon returned the dog tag he found in his backyard which belonged to her late husband, Clarence Massey. Harmon used Veterans Affairs websites and other information to track down Mrs. Massey and return the momento to her.
