3 life prison terms for man convicted in assault of girl, 5

A 48-year-old North Texas man who pleaded guilty last month to sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl has been sentenced to three life prison terms. State District Judge Charles Barnard told Donald Ray Shivers, of Iowa Park, at his sentencing Friday in Wichita Falls that he was taking away Shivers' freedom because Shivers had taken away his victim's innocence.
