Jury selection began today for the trial of a man accused of killing 21-year-old Domanic Thrasher last June. 21-year-old, Blayne William Brooks has been in Wichita County Jail since August of last year on charges of aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity murder.

Update on WFISD's CEC construction & District of Innovation Committee meeting
At the Wichita Falls Independent School District's board meeting Monday night, trustees got an update on the construction progress of the Career Education Center, the facility that will offer about 25 different programs to prepare high school students for college or their future career. Michael Kuhrt , WFISD Superintendent, said the CEC construction is on budget but behind schedule, and adds it is 34-percent finished.

Some Texoma Volunteer Firefighters learned how to stop life-threatening bleeding in the event of an emergency when responding to calls. WF City Council signs off on new vehicles for Police Department
On Monday morning Wichita Falls City Council officials passed an ordinance purchasing 11 new 2017 Ford Interceptors and three new BMW motorcycles for just under $400,000. The new vehicles will replace some of the older Crown Victoria cars and Kawasaki motorcycles currently used by the Police Department.

Tensions from last week's election seeped into a girl's volleyball match, when students from Archer City chanted "Build a wall!" and "Come and take it!" when playing Fort Hancock, a school on the Texas-Mexico border that is 97 percent Hispanic. The chants were made during a Class 2A regional match on Friday in Snyder, according to the Wichita Falls-Times Record-News .
Mosquito Problems In November
The Wichita Falls/Wichita County Public Health District said that extended warm temperatures in the fall have forced them to extend payroll for seasonal employees that treat for mosquito populations. The WFWCPHD began it's 2017 fiscal year in October.
Three in jail after traffic leads to meth bust
Wichita Falls Police Department stopped an SUV in the area of Airport Drive and Central Freeway on Tuesday for a traffic violation. After further investigation, the driver of the vehicle told officers that methamphetamines were inside the SUV.
