The Wichita Falls Police Department responded to a call in the 1700 block of 9th Street in reference to a possible forgery in progress. Once at the scene, Officers spoke with employees of the business who told them that 43-year-old Jerrie Syon attempted to pass a check in the amount of $2,300.

Nellie and Buckshot Boenig, along with family members and friends, helped Ellen Mae Boenig celebrate another milestone - her 111th birthday - at her home north of this city on Oct. 21. "Overall, she had a good time that day with all the people there," her son Buckshot Boenig said.

Wichita Falls Public Library hosts International Games Day
Dozens spent the afternoon doing puzzles, playing card games and different board games. Like Candy Land, checkers and even strategy games such as Susan Cooper, the Wichita Falls Library's Youth Services Manager, said this event is a good way to let people know about all the programs the library has.

Texas man, woman arrested after children said they were beaten with 'Act Right' paddle
A Wichita Falls man and woman have been charged with injury to a child after three children reported being beaten, sometimes with a wooden paddle with zip ties wrapped around it, the Times Record News reported. Michael George Corey, 31, has been charged with three counts of injury to a child.

ECI services return to Wichita Falls
Newschannel 6 has learned that Helen Farabee Centers in Wichita Falls will be providing Early Childhood Intervention services in the Wichita Falls area. This comes after we reported back in June that North Texas Rehab Center discontinued their ECI services due to continued decreases in reimbursement, including the recent cuts to Texas Medicaid.

Canned food distributed to area food banks
Kiowa Casino has been working to help feed those in need and on November 21, the goods brought in from the can hunger food drive were distributed. The food collected will go to many groups including The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, Lawton Food Bank, Faith Mission, The Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma and other local area food banks.

Man dies after hit and run accident in Wichita Falls
Wichita Falls Police Departments Crash Investigators need your help in locating a suspect vehicle involved in a fatality hit and run. Last night at approximately 9p.m. officers responded to the 3900 block of Iowa Park Rd. Once at the scene, they found 31-year-old Joseph Clark had been hit by a vehicle while in his wheelchair.
