The event was put on by the Wichita Falls organization Cafe Con Leche. An MSU representative Mario Ramirez said the event helped ease the burden for many students who get discouraged filling out financial aid forms.

A Texas man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly broke into someone's home, used their shower, and made himself quite comfortable, according to the Wichita Falls Police Department. WFPD could soon have facial recognition technology
New facial recognition technology could be on the way to the Wichita Falls police department to help investigate and enforce city crimes. City council passed an ordinance Tuesday to apply for $59,000 dollars from the Homeland Security Grant Program for the new technology.

Wichita County Sheriffs to receive new vehicles
The Wichita Falls County Commissioners approved a motion to purchase ten new vehicles for the Wichita County Sheriff's Office this year. The plan is to buy eight Chevrolet Tahoe for patrolling and two Chevrolet Traverse that will be used to transport prisoners throughout the state.

Police identify woman who led them on high speed chase in to Oklahoma
Police said they were called to the 2000 block of Taft in Wichita Falls and made contact with 34-year-old Crystal Truitt who told the officers that someone was after her. A family member arrived at the scene and Truitt got in to the back seat of the vehicle.

Forecasters say parts of Texas face critical wildfire danger
The Texas A&M Forest Service on Wednesday announced the areas of concern are Abilene, Amarillo, El Paso, Fort Stockton, Lubbock, Midland-Odessa, San Angelo and Wichita Falls. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center issued an alert describing western portions of Texas as having an extreme threat for wildfires.
