Just before 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening officers were called out to a home in the 2100 block of Avenue E. Witnesses told police a man had walked into the home, took a rifle and then took off in a beige Chevrolet Impala. The homeowner was contacted and told police they did not know Esparza and he was not given permission to be in their home.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrested a 37-year-old Livingston man Tuesday after he was involved in an auto-pedestrian crash that killed one man and injured another. According to a press release, the auto-pedestrian wreck occurred on U.S. Highway 59 about a mile south of Shepherd at about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Scores of people were arrested as investigators seized numerous weapons, vehicles and narcotics during a Texas Department of Public Safety-led operation in Lubbock that ended on March 30. Following the two-week operation in Lubbock, Abilene, Amarillo and Wichita Falls, 45 people were arrested as the investigation focused on the apprehension and vehicle theft in the area, according to DPS Lt. Bryan Witt.

The Texas Department of Public Safety announced Thursday it arrested more than 40 people during a recent operation that ended March 30. The sweep, which focused on the apprehension of wanted fugitives and vehicle thefts in the Lubbock region, resulted in 45 arrests over two weeks. DPS said arrests were made in Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene and Wichita Falls.
