In my research through the archives of Bandera County I have seen some mighty interesting documents, but one of the most fascinating documents I have found, was an original letter from E. C. de Montel to J. Marvin Hunter dated August 23, 1935, which was in a box of old documents that Gail Joiner gave me to go through. Montel was a lawyer and later County Judge of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Two arrested after nearly 70 grams of meth was found in Wichita Falls motel room
Two people are behind bars after law enforcement officials found nearly 70 grams of methamphetamine in a Wichita Falls motel. On Tuesday, Wichita County District Attorney's Office Drug Enforcement Division Investigators served a search warrant at a room in the Motel 6 on the 1200 block of Broad Street.

Just after 7:00 p.m. Wichita Falls Police were called out to a church in the 3100 block of McNiel in reference to a suspicious person. When officers arrived on scene they were told a white woman, wearing black clothing, pulled into the parking lot in a red Chevy Cavalier.

Lightning destroys tree at Wichita Falls Country Club
After the storms Friday morning moved out, Thomas Billick, the Head Golf Professional at the Wichita Falls Country Club, found a tree completely destroyed by lightning. The grounds crew were preparing the course for the day when they came across a tree completely shredded with debris everywhere.

A 7-year-old boy recently died several days after teenagers found him floating in a lake near Wichita Falls. Michael Ondricek was pronounced dead at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth at 12:40 a.m. Friday, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.

Vernon man dies in Hall County rollover
A Vernon man died and his passenger sustained life-threatening injuries during a rollover Friday in Hall County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety Harkey was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 287 a mile east of Estelline around 11:32 a.m when the front left tire of the 2001 Ford pickup he was driving blew out. Harkey lost control of the pickup and crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic.

Lake Arrowhead VFD benefit Monday at WF Texas Roadhouse
The fundraiser will be held June 12th from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse in Wichita Falls at 3111 Lawrence Rd. All proceeds go towards a new facility for the Lake Arrowhead Volunteer Fire Department. The current building was damaged by a fire back in March.

Half a pound of meth leads to arrest at Wayfarer Motel
Around 5:00 a.m. officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department's Organized Crime Unit and SWAT team members served a narcotic search warrant at a room in the motel located on the 600 block of Central Freeway East. During a search of the room, officers found several small plastic bags that had a clear crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
