Wichita Falls police are investigating a late night armed robbery that happened Wednesday night in the 2400 block of Brook Avenue. Police say two men armed with handguns walked into Abel General Store around 9:30 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk.

On Thursday, the City of Wichita Falls announced the section of the trail located in the Wichita Bluff Nature Area off of Seymour Highway was complete. The new section continues from the Seymour Highway Trail parking lot easterly and has seven lookout spurs with views of the Wichita Falls Bluff Nature Area and Wichita River.

A Plano woman was arrested this month after she was accused of sending a prison inmate books with synthetic weed hidden inside. The Times Record News reports that Lydia Margaret Mann was arrested a week ago and charged with sending a prohibited substance to a correctional facility.

Wichita Falls police were called to the 1100 block of Monroe Street on Sunday after witnesses called to say two people were taking items out of a residence and loading them into the back of a gold truck. When police pulled the truck over, the driver, 34-year-old Gaylon Dorsey, stated that he paid the passenger, 58-year-old Diana Chambers, $100 for a water heater.

They say the victim and his girlfriend were arguing at an apartment in Wichita Falls when Nancy Lindler and Justin Fields, the mother and brother of the female, came into the apartment and attacked her boyfriend. According to police, Lindler hit the victim in the leg with a baseball bat and Fields threatened the man with two knives.
