Grants allow city to finish popular walking trail
One week after Wichita Falls added the latest mile to the circle trail, they announced the plans to finish the 26-mile trail around the city. It's all thanks to three separate grants, totaling $5.4 million from the Texas Department of Transportation Set Aside Program.

Teens help non-profit give fence to dog in need
One happy pup now has a yard where she can run and play thanks to a group of volunteers from the WFISD swim team. The team was out Saturday morning helping the chain-off team from P.E.T.S. Low-Cost Spay and Neuter, build a fence for the family that lives there and their dog Abigail.

Wichita Falls man arrested with AK-47
On Sunday at 2:45 a.m., Wichita Falls police were called out to a disturbance in the 2400 block of Sheppard Access at Studio E. Police say the weapon was loaded and had a barrel length less than 16 inches and a total length less than 26 inches. A search at the Wichita County jail found Luckey to be in possession of numerous pills, including Codeine and Alprazolam.

Transfer station to be closed longer than expected

Right now deer are on the move across North Texas and it's putting drivers at risk. A survey by State Farm shows drivers in Texas have a one in 269 chance of hitting a deer from now until the rest of the year.

For sale: Owners put Austin American-Statesman on the market
The company that owns the Austin American-Statesman has put the daily newspaper up for sale along with seven community newspapers across Central Texas and a number of websites. On Tuesday, October 31, Atlanta-based Cox Media Group said it was seeking a buyer or buyers for its Central Texas media properties as well as two daily newspapers in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Three Texoma airports to receive TxDOT funding
Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday they plan to provide $60 million in funding for planning, constructing and maintaining community airports. 275 community airports in Texas are eligible for this funding including Kickapoo Downtown Airpark in Wichita Falls, Wilbarger County Airport, and Graham Municipal Airport.

Phillips 66 armed robbery on Halloween night
Wichita Falls Police are asking the public to help identify two suspects wanted in an armed robbery of a convenience store on Halloween night. Around 7:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Phillips 66 in the 900 block of Kemp Blvd. in reference to a robbery with a weapon.
