Deposition against Burkburnett, officer following inmate suicide begins

On Wednesday afternoon depositions began in a civil lawsuit between a Wichita Falls woman and a Burkburnett Police officer and the city of Burkburnett. Shelly Parham is suing the arresting officer, Daniel Elbaum, and the city after her son Marcus Johnson was found hanged in a Burkburnett holding cell in March of 2016.

A former Chillicothe city councilor and hospital employee remains jailed on $1.5 million bond in the Childress County Jail, charged with victimizing children over several years. Sheriff Pat Laughery said there is the possibility more charges could be filed against 49 year old Bryan Rambo, who already faces 16 counts of sexual assault or indecency involving at least five children,from 2006 to 2014.

According to an affidavit obtained by the Wichita Falls Times Record News , a woman called 911 last Wednesday screaming, "I need cops now!"
