Staff at the Salvation Army in Wichita Falls are cleaning up after a pipe burst over the weekend flooding the building causing the shelter to close its doors. Major Robert Green with the Salvation Army said on Sunday, a pressure valve connected to the toilets at the facility got loose, and a staff member attempted to turn the water off.

Woman accused of injuring a child now in police custody, more details released
We have learned new information in the case of a Wichita Falls woman who is suspected of intentionally causing harm to a 2-year-old child. According to court documents, Wichita Falls police were called to the Kell West Hospital's Emergency Room on January 10. When officers arrived they made contact with the ER staff who said a 2-year-old male had been brought into the ER earlier in the night with burns to the lower left leg and foot.

On January 22 at around 2:10 a.m., firefighters arrived at an apartment fire in the 910 block of East Scott. They saw flames coming from the roof and began working on it.

It's taken years to complete, but water is now pumping from the Wichita Falls Resource Recovery Facility into Lake Arrowhead. The new IPR will keep lake levels at 60 percent 98 percent of the time and help alleviate any future droughts in Wichita Falls.

Wichita Falls Police responded to the scene of a pedestrian versus vehicle accident in the 4500 block of Prince Edward Drive on Thursday afternoon. WFPD were on the scene investigating nearly an hour later.

Crews with the Wichita Falls Fire Department say dry and windy conditions played a role in spreading a fire that started in a backyard Saturday. Battalion Chief Todd Mudd says someone was cooking in their backyard when the flames got out of the grill causing the grass to catch fire.
