4th, 5th grade students tour college campuses

Administrators at a Wichita Falls elementary school showed students what their hard work would eventually lead to earlier this month. On Thursday, April 5, 86 4th and 5th-grade students from Booker T Washington Elementary took a break from preparing for the STAAR test and toured two universities.

The Gold Coat Ambassadors welcomed Communities in Schools into the Wichita Falls Chambers of Commerce Thursday with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. Communities in Schools has staff inside WFISD, where they work with teachers and parents to provide students a community of support ultimately empowering them to stay in school.

Money was raised during the week for organizations like the Wichita Co. Humane Society.

The Wichita Falls Police Department has issued a capital murder warrant after a man was killed around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Police say they are looking for 22-year-old Eric Glenn Lee II of Wichita Falls.

Wichita Falls is one out of six cities chosen to implement the LENA Program.
