Wichita Falls man arrested after alleged assault, more charges pending
According to the WFPD, William David Starnes, 46, assaulted a 64-year-old man who tried to intervene when he saw Starnes assaulting a 59-year-old woman in the 500 block of Burkburnett Road. Witnesses told officers, just before noon, Starnes struck the victim in the head with a wood board, critically injuring him.

Police chase from Oklahoma ends in Texas officer-involved shooting...
A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting after he took police on a high-speed chase from Oklahoma into North Texas Thursday morning and stabbed a kidnapped woman, officials said. The chase began as a kidnapping in Oklahoma before ending on U.S. Highway 287 east of Vernon, the Wichita Falls Times Record News reported .

Officials say the cause of the fire was an electrical short in the fixture and wiring of the kitchen ceiling. They said the fire damage was primarily in the kitchen area, but the home sustained smoke damage throughout the structure.

According to AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide gas price average in Texas for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $2.58. The price is six cents more than last week and is 34 cents more per gallon compared to this day last year.

News Channel 6 has confirmed a Wichita Falls man has died following a head-on collision in central Texas Monday morning. DPS officials said Justin Maywald, 27, was driving southbound on SH-36 in Coryell County, just north of Killeen when his vehicle veered into the path of an oncoming loaded concrete truck.
