When officers arrived at the scene in the 1300 block of Martin Luther King Blvd they could see Melissa Burnett, 35, yelling and screaming at people in the parking lot. Burnett was detained and officers began to speak with witnesses.

Wichita Falls City Council passed a resolution Tuesday to bid a contract out to a company for a $934,000 project to renovate the Wastewater Collections Office and Equipment Storage Facility.

A Wichita Falls man wanted for his alleged involvement in an aggravated assault in early April has turned himself in. The charge stems from a call to the WFPD on the night of April 6, 2018.

Traffic stop leads to 3 arrests in WF
Wichita Falls police say around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, the Gang Task Force Unit and the Tactical Unit stopped a Nissan Maxima in the 1900 block of Hines Boulevard for running a stop sign. Sergeant Maloney, with the Gang Task Force Unit, says officers performed a search of the vehicle after they spotted drug paraphernalia in the car.

Unwanted hug from child led Texas woman to lift boy by ears, police say
A Wichita Falls woman was arrested last week after a 9-year-old boy told officials that she'd lifted him by the ears and hit him with a belt after he tried to hug her, officials said. Nichole Blevins, 32, was booked Monday on a charge of injury to a child, Wichita Falls police said.

WF woman arrested following toddler's treatment for burn injuries
A Wichita Falls woman is behind bars following a call to the emergency room at United Regional on Sunday evening. According to WFPD, around 5:24 p.m. officers were dispatched to the hospital where a toddler was being treated for burn injuries.

WF Chamber makes final 'Vote Yes' push on bond election
On Saturday at 7 a.m. the polls will open in Wichita Falls for residents to vote on seven bond propositions. "We're just ready for this to be over so we know what we're working with as we move forward to build a better community," C.E.O. of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce, Henry Florsheim said.
