Officials with the Better Business Bureau in Wichita Falls joined Ava Van Valen in the studio on Monday afternoon to speak about refunds in the Western Union Settlement. The Texas State Attorney General announced these refunds are being processed to consumers who were deceived into sending payments to scammers using Western Union's wire transfer service.

Hospice Tree of Lights campaign kicks off tonight
A $10 donation will light one light on the Hospice of Wichita Falls Tree of Lights on the top of the Southwest Building. The goal is to raise $200,000 which goes towards providing bereavement and grief support programs in the Wichita Falls community.

Woman accused of stealing vehicle, shoplifting in 7 minutes
A Wichita Falls woman is behind bars accused of stealing a vehicle and minutes later shoplifting at a CVS Pharmacy. On Thursday, November 16, WFPD officers were called out to the CVS in the 3200 block of Seymour Highway for a shoplifting call around 5:06 p.m. Case had keys to a 2011 Ford F-150 on her person when she was taken into custody.

Full-service hotel project delayed once again
A project for a new full-service hotel and conference center in Wichita Falls near the MPEC is, once again, delayed. On Tuesday, city council tabled an ordinance to move forward with the project due to Gatehouse Capital not having secured a loan.

Lake Wichita revitalization efforts gaining steam
On Tuesday, Wichita Falls city council accepted a $500,000 grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to expand the Lake Wichita boat ramp to four lanes, add a boat dock, seawall, restrooms, and a sidewalk. In June of 2016, they accepted a separate $500,000 grant from the TPWD for a boardwalk and other shoreline improvements.
