Lawmaker Proposing New Bill To Change DNA Testing For Convicts

Wichita Falls, TX - A Texas lawmaker that authored a 2011 bill that makes it difficult for convicts to receive crime-scene DNA testing says he is proposing a new bill to change it. Sen. Rodney Ellis of Houston said it would clear up the current law on the books stating that a convicted person may request testing of "evidence containing biological material."

Two defendants, who pleaded guilty in June 2014 to their respective roles in a crack cocaine/cocaine powder distribution conspiracy that operated in Wichita Falls and McAllen, Texas, have been sentenced, announced John Parker, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas. Yesterday, U.S. District Judge Reed C. O'Connor sentenced Rodolfo Trevino , 34, of Wichita Falls, to a 97-month term of imprisonment.

Townsend notched a goal and two assists in the win, giving him 30 points on the season, while Tommy Apap and Max Reisinger both tallied a goal and an assist.
