ABC, 24/7, Telemundo - AMARILLO, TX The Texas Department of Public Safety seized over 44 pounds of heroin after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Potter County on August 16. At approximately 4:13 p.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 1995 BMW passenger car traveling east on IH-40 near Amarillo, for a traffic violation.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - In Texas' latest salvo in its fight over national transgender policies, the state says the Obama administration cannot change the determination of gender from "biological fact" to a "state of mind" and force physicians to perform sex-reassignment surgeries. Texas, four other states and three physicians associations sued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday in Federal Court, claiming the new Affordable Care Act rule is an example of "regulatory overreach that is invading the coffers" of the state and violating the "medical judgment and conscience rights" of physicians.
