Local Youngsters Spend Summer Vacation Collecting Awards

Base Camp Lindsey coming to Wichita Falls
Tiny homes are being built in Wichita Falls to provide homeless veterans a place to get back on their feet. The North Texas Veteran's Relief Fund announced the location and name of the tiny home village today on Aug 10. The land to build the homes was donated by an anonymous donor.

Severe storms to batter US High Plains with large hail, flooding through the weekend
Rounds of severe thunderstorms will raise the risk of property damage and flash flooding across a portion of the central United States through Saturday night. During Friday afternoon and evening, thunderstorms will continue to carry a high risk of unleashing very large hail from southeastern Wyoming and the western panhandle of Nebraska through eastern Colorado and into the Texas Panhandle.

Wichita County mommies and kids graduate nurse-family training program together
Some Wichita County two-year old's and their moms graduated from Community Healthcare Center's Nurse-Family Partnership program at Tenth & Broad Church of Christ in Wichita Falls Friday. 21 first-time mothers took part in the program that brings registered nurses to these momma's homes starting early in their pregnancy and until the child's second birthday.

Cheryl Marshall, was one of many shoppers at the Wichita Falls JCPenney on Saturday, bought several back-to-school gifts for her grandkids. During Tax-Free Weekend savvy shoppers, like Marshall, play while the Lone Star State takes a break from its sales tax, which is just more than eight percent.
