Yesterday was the warmest January 31st in Wichita Falls history with a high of 80 degrees, breaking the record of 78. Winds are northerly now thanks to a cold front that came through just after midnight. The result is a noticeably cooler Thursday with gusty north winds.

A 17-year-old, accused of taking part in an armed robbery of the Sonic on 9th Street on Monday night in Wichita Falls, is facing a theft of a firearm charge. The afternoon of the robbery, an officer with the Electra Police Department was called out to a home in the 1000 block of N. Waggoner Street in reference to a theft of a firearm.

A WFISD Principal was booked into the Wichita County Jail on Wednesday for Failure to Report, which is a misdemeanor charge. According to arrest documents, it is alleged that on December 15, 2017, Kory Fancher Dorman, 45, committed Family Code 261.109 Failure to Report while acting in an official capacity as Principal at Crocket Elementary in Wichita Falls.

A Texas school official has been arrested on a charge of failing to report sexual abuse of a child to law enforcement. The Wichita Falls Times Record News reports that Kory Fancher Dorman, a 45-year-old elementary school principal at the Wichita Falls Independent School District had been arrested and charged Wednesday.

Man charged with intoxicated manslaughter for deadly Loop 11 wreck

A Wichita Falls man has been charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter, a felony of the second degree, following a deadly accident on Loop 11 on January 10. According to WFPD, Aaron Charles Jennings, 29, was driving a 2014 Impala on January 10, when the vehicle hit the light pole at Loop 11 and Beverly Drive. Witnesses told police the driver, identified as Jennings, was traveling recklessly and at high rates of speed before the crash.

The affidavit alleges that on Oct. 25 last year, a teacher at Kate Haynes School reported finding photographs on a student-assigned iPad of three male students, all aged six, engaging in sexual acts in a classroom. The incident occurred on Oct. 3, according to dates on the photos.

The Wichita Falls Police Department is adding a new tool that can potentially save officer's lives thanks to a Firehouse Subs grant. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation awarded the police department a $26,290 grant and with those funds, the WFPD purchased an AVATAR III Tactical Robot and Avatar Pan-Tilt-Zoom Camera.
