The Wichita Falls City Council has chosen longtime Wichita Falls Senior Assistant City Attorney Kinley Hegglund to serve as the new City Attorney. Hegglund joined the City's legal team 14 years ago as the City Prosecutor and was later promoted to Senior Assistant City Attorney.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott barely had time to get a good night's sleep on Election Night Nov. 4 before he immediately began his transition to governor of the Lone Star State, according to KRPC television of Houston. In the wake of his landslide, landmark victory by 20 points in the governor's race Tuesday evening, he held a press conference Wednesday at the State Capitol in which he announced several of his plans going forward.

Love Grabs Individual Title as Lady Buffs Place Second at LSC Championships
Senior Emma Love of the West Texas A&M women's cross country team picked up an individual Lone Star Conference title at the 2014 LSC Championships Saturday morning in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Lady Buffs placed the race's top-three runners and had four earn All-Conference accolades as the team placed second overall, falling to host Midwestern State in the tiebreaker.
