Kory Watkins is like the kid who got a Zune instead of an iPod for Christmas. The Open Carry Tarrant County leader is upset, very, very, upset, that the Texas Senate passed a bill yesterday that would legalize the open carrying of handguns in the state.

With the bang of a gavel and a shouted "yeah!" heard from the gallery, the state Senate on Tuesday gave final approval to a bill that would legalize licensed open carry in Texas. After the upper chamber approved the proposal along partisan lines by a vote of 20-10, the proposal's sponsor doubled-down on remarks he made Monday, when he suggested that people afraid of guns should seek medical help.

Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Arrest

A missing driver's license and the failure to making a proper signal to turn lead to the arrest of two people, as well as Wichita Falls Police made the traffic stop at around 8:15 p.m. last night on Airport Road near the Central Freeway Access Road. Officers approached the Chrysler van and asked the driver, 29-year-old Pedro Suarez, for his driver's license.

As expected, the Senate on Thursday passed Senate Bill 11 by Sen. Brian Birdwell, R-Granbury, which puts the Lone Star State a step closer to requiring public colleges and universities to allow concealed handguns on campus.
