Texas man admits driving car with no brakes or booster seats after crash that hurt 2 kids
A driver was arrested after causing a pileup in which he admitted driving two children around Wichita Falls in a car without brakes or safety seats.The children, ages 3 and 5, were hospitalized after Saturday's crash near Kell and Kemp boulevards, according to the Times Record News.Dekendrick Cortreal Young, 28, was booked on two counts of child endangerment. He has since been released after posting bond.

Texas to lose Brazos Valley children's therapy provider
Approximately 230 children in the Brazos Valley area are slated to lose a provider offering speech, physical and occupational therapy at the end of August. The state's Early Childhood Intervention program has already lost a dozen providers in recent years as state lawmakers have cut program funds.

Former Pizza Hut manager arrested for embezzling money
In early March, a representative with Pizza Hut came to the Wichita Falls Police Department to report a theft of $16,133 from the store located on the 2500 block of Seymour Highway by an employee. They told officers that Cody James Armstrong-Lopez had embezzled money from the company for over a year by changing rates given to delivery drivers.

It was a terrifying time for a Wichita Falls family Wednesday night, as police say they are investigating a case of an abandoned baby at the Martin Luther King Junior Day Care Center on Smith Street. The infant's mother said the baby's father went to pick the child up around 5 p.m. and staff members told him the infant had already been picked up.

Failed sprinkler caused $83,000 in damage at WF library
Newschannel 6 has learned just how much damage a broken sprinkler head caused the Wichita Falls Public Library a month and a half ago. Jack Murphy, Wichita Falls Director Parks and Recreation, said maybe a couple thousand books were affected by the failed sprinkler.

A Wichita Falls Police Officer is in the hospital after his motorcycle was hit by a car on Kemp Blvd Friday. Southbound Kemp Blvd and one lane on the northbound side were closed until just after 12:30 p.m. so crews could gather evidence and clear the scene.
